Turn Your Crafts Into Cash

Throughout the semester I have created several unique items that I have decided to produce more of an sell for a little extra cash towards student loans. I want to share with you a few ways that you too can earn a little extra cash by selling your crafty items.

First, look into how much it costs to become a vendor at your local farmers market. Currently, at the Topeka Farmers Market it costs $30 for a year membership and $25 for a booth space each Saturday you attend. You can follow the link for more information about registering if you are interested.

For that price, depending on how many items you plan to sell, you should be able to come out with a nice profit. I personally love seeing all the homemade craft items for sale along with the food.

Another great way to get your crafts to consumers is to put them on Etsy. An online consignment website, Etsy allows sellers to create a profile and upload photos of items for buyers to view. The website it easy to use and allows over 30 million buyers to come directly to you!

It only costs $0.20 to list an items for 4 months, or until it sells, and 3.5% of the final sale price. You can always set it up so that the consumer pays for shipping as well. For those costs, you could be swimming in extra cash in no time!

I hope these tips will help you turn your crafts into cash. I know that as a college student every little bit helps and if I can turn something I am already doing for fun into cash, well then you don't have to tell me twice!
